Vintage 1960s Lurashell Chair

Price SOLD

We have ourselves a true 1960s design icon, this rare and wonderful example of the Lurashell Chair by Walter Chenery is a real find. Lurashell pioneered moulded glass fibre furniture and this particular style is quite rare with chrome legs and self- levelling feet giving it a very modernist look.

If you ever come across a Lurashell chair we would urge you to sit in it because the design is such that it envelops you like no other chair we’ve ever tried!

The seat is deep and low with the optimum level of back recline to provide ultimate comfort for this easy chair.   Here at Maud we are all absolute converts to this design.

The chair has been fully restored and re-upholstered in a classic mid-century green Bute wool which contrasts brilliantly with the black fibreglass shell. The fibreglass shell is in great condition with no cracks or splits.

The elegant chrome legs have polished up a treat. Just some slight pitting commensurate with age but nothing to deter from the chairs fabulousness.

If you’re after a real statement piece then look no further this chair is the business.
