We’re very excited by this beautifully restored 1950s Howard Keith Wing Back Armchair, a real treat for fans of this designer.
For those who don’t already know, the renowned Howard Keith founded HK Designs in the 1930’s and was established as one of the leading British furniture designers in the 1940’s and 50’s. The history behind HK Designs is much documented so enjoy ‘filling your boots’ with furniture knowledge, try this site for starters http://www.hkdesigns.co.uk/index.php/about
The chair has been stripped to the hardwood frame (very heavy!) and fully restored. The beech wood arms and legs have been sanded back to their natural state and oiled to enhance the pale woodwork which contrasts beautifully with the fabric.
We have created a stunning British/Danish partnership by upholstering this chair in a high quality wool fabric by Danish textile company Kvadrat (http://kvadrat.dk). The colour of this fabulous wool is a glorious ‘Teal’ blue – a real ‘mid-century’ favourite. The contrast buttons are covered in Turquoise tweed by Bute.
This striking armchair has true ‘provenance’ and is a real investment piece for any furniture lover.
